We currently specialize in flatbed and step-deck loads, with plans to expand into additional equipment types as we grow. We need a detail-oriented operations professional to handle the back-office work that keeps freight moving and customers happy. This is a real opportunity for someone who likes process work, takes pride in getting things right, and wants room to grow as we scale. What You'll Do Process freight billing and carrier payments accurately and on time Manage carrier qualification documentation through our RMIS platform Track rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, and freight documentation across loads moving anywhere in the lower 48 Support our dispatcher with carrier coordination and load documentation Maintain compliance records and renewal tracking for our broker authority Help build documented processes as the business grows What We're Looking For Experience with AP, freight billing, or transportation back office work (2+ years preferred but we'll consider strong candidates with related administrative experience) Familiarity with flatbed and step-deck freight is a plus, but not required — we'll train on the specifics Comfort with detail-heavy, process-driven work — you find satisfaction in getting things accurate, not in moving on quickly Strong written and verbal communication Familiarity with QuickBooks, freight TMS systems, or similar business software (we'll train on our specific stack) Ability to manage multiple ongoing items and lanes without dropping things Curious about the business and willing to grow the role over time What We Offer Competitive salary in the $52,000 - $62,000 range based on experience Health and dental insurance 401(k) retirement plan Profit sharing Paid time off and holidays Stable, family-owned company with growth ahead Real opportunity for advancement as Vertical Logistics expands its lanes, equipment types, and customer base In-office role at our Bixby, OK location About Vertical Logistics Vertical Logistics LLC is a freight brokerage with FMCSA broker authority, operating from offices in Bixby, Oklahoma and serving customers across the lower 48 states. We're a true broker — we'll move freight wherever a customer in our service area is willing to ship it. Our current specialization is flatbed and step-deck loads, with planned expansion into additional equipment types as we grow our sales team and customer base. We are an affiliated company of Horizon Metals LLC (a scrap recycling business with a processing yard in Midland, Texas, a brokerage and dispatch operation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and on-site processing services for customers nationally). We are known for doing things the right way, paying our carriers on time, and treating our team well. This role reports to Vertical Logistics' Director of Compliance and Operations and works closely with our dispatcher on day-to-day freight operations.
