Job Description

At Metal Powder Works, we've invented an entirely new way to make metal powders and now we're commercializing it. Our DirectPowder™ technology produces metal powders for use in multiple manufacturing processes like Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing. We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Materials & Logistics Coordinator to support our daily purchasing, shipping, and receiving operations. This is a part-time position (20-30 hrs./week) with potential to grow into a full-time role. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Create, issue, and track purchase order requests within the ERP system and Excel. Coordinate with suppliers on pricing, lead times, order confirmations, and delivery status. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on delayed or incomplete shipments. Maintain purchasing records, supplier documentation, and basic pricing history. Enter and reconcile purchasing and receiving transactions accurately in ERP and Excel. Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, part numbers, and condition against documentation. Capture and file required documentation including packing slips, Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, and SDS where applicable. Identify and report discrepancies, damage, or shortages and assist with returns or claims. Label, store, and route materials to appropriate stock or staging locations. Support inventory accuracy through organization, cycle counts, and ERP updates. Prepare outbound shipments including picking, packing, labeling, and staging. Process parcel shipments using UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Coordinate freight shipments (LTL/FTL), including bills of lading and carrier scheduling. Handle hazardous material shipments in compliance with DOT and IATA requirements, including proper packaging, labeling, and documentation. Track shipments and proactively address delivery delays or exceptions. Maintain SDS files and hazardous shipping records as required. Follow internal safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards. Support operations, quality, and production teams with material movement and coordination. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 3+ years of experience in purchasing, shipping/receiving, logistics, or inventory support. Experience using an ERP system and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. Effective communication skills with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams. Experience shipping via UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight carriers preferred. Familiarity with hazardous material shipping requirements preferred; training available. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Forklift experience or willingness to be trained preferred.
Pay:
$26.00 - $28.00 per hour
