Job Description

About Dynamic Metal Innovations We're a precision metal fabrication and machining company specializing in laser cutting, machining, and rapid prototyping, headquartered in Emmaus, PA, with a subsidiary, DMI-Texas, LLC, in Brownsville, TX. Now in our seventh year, our team of 45+ across both locations is a premier vendor of tooling and components for advanced aerospace programs. If you're driven by hands-on work that contributes to the future of flight and exploration, you'll fit right in. About the Role We move fast — and our logistics operation has to move faster. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Logistics Technician / Driver who can own the back end of our shop: packaging finished parts so they arrive damage-free, building pallets, managing shipments and receiving, and getting behind the wheel to make sure deliveries, vendor pickups, and outsourcing runs happen on time. This isn't a dock-and-desk job. One hour you're building a crate, the next you're driving parts to a plating vendor or delivering a rush order to a customer. If you thrive in that kind of environment, we want to talk. What We're Looking For Required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record — required. Shipping, logistics, packaging, or material handling experience (manufacturing preferred). Comfortable operating company vehicles (van, box truck, or similar) for local and regional runs. Skilled with power tools — circular saws, nail guns, drills, strapping tools, cutters, grinders. Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly; comfortable bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout a full shift. Able to sit/stand for long periods in a loud, fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. Highly adaptable — rush jobs and changing priorities are the norm here, not the exception. Proficient with Microsoft Suite; ERP and shipping software experience a plus. Preferred Forklift experience or willingness to certify (we'll train the right person). Experience with Fulcrum ERP or similar shipping/receiving software. Ability to read blueprints and use basic measurement tools (calipers, etc.) for part verification. Background in a sheet metal or machining job shop environment.
Familiarity with light production tasks:
de-nesting laser-cut parts, deburring, tapping, countersinking, assembly. What You'll Do Drive all deliveries, pickups, and outsourcing runs. Serve as the primary driver for customer deliveries, vendor pickups, outsourcing drop-offs and returns (anodizing, plating, heat treating, etc.), and supply runs. Plan routes efficiently, coordinate timing with the production schedule and customer promise dates, and make sure every load is properly secured and documented before you leave the dock. Package and ship finished parts. Build boxes and crates, package finished parts securely to prevent damage in transit, palletize shipments, and prepare all outgoing orders so they arrive exactly as they left — on time and damage-free. Handle receiving and material movement. Unload incoming deliveries, verify shipments against purchase orders and quality standards, and use the forklift to move material through the facility. Keep incoming stock organized and flag any discrepancies immediately. Own the system side of logistics. Use Fulcrum ERP and shipping/receiving software to organize and prioritize shipments, track orders, log receiving activity, and keep records current. Accurate data entry keeps the shop running — treat it that way. Meet customer promise dates and handle rush jobs. Work with the Logistics Coordinator and Production Supervisor to prioritize the day's workload, respond to rush requests, and do whatever it takes to get critical jobs out the door on time. Support production when needed. When the shop needs an extra hand, pitch in: de-nest laser-cut parts, perform manual deburring, assist with light machining tasks (tapping, countersinking), or help with assembly. Versatility is valued here. Keep a safe, organized workspace. Maintain a clean and orderly area, follow all safety protocols, and stay alert in a loud, active shop environment. What Success Looks Like We don't expect you to do everything on day one. Here's how we picture this role coming together over your first year: In your first 90 days You've learned our shipping and receiving workflows, gotten comfortable in Fulcrum, and you're handling daily packaging and shipments independently. You know the regular routes — which vendors need pickups, which customers expect deliveries on which days — and you're executing them without needing to be directed. Early on, success is straightforward: parts go out packaged correctly, deliveries happen on time, and nothing gets lost or damaged. By six months You're the one the team counts on when a rush order drops or a vendor run has to happen in the next hour. You're managing the daily logistics workload without oversight, keeping the ERP up to date, and proactively flagging anything that could delay a shipment or delivery. You've built a feel for which jobs are time-sensitive and you're prioritizing accordingly — without being asked. By the end of your first year You own logistics. Shipments go out on time, incoming material is verified and put away cleanly, and the shop floor knows they can count on you to get parts where they need to go. You've tightened up our packaging and routing, caught problems before they became customer issues, and become the person everyone comes to when something needs to move fast. In short, you've made our logistics operation something we don't have to worry about. Compensation & Benefits Pay is based on your logistics expertise and experience — we value deep knowledge in sheet metal and machining job shops.
