Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE SBAS
Group is an ITAR-registered agency specializing in the secure procurement, management, and deployment of supply-chain munitions, ordinances, and explosive. We are seeking a highly skilled Defense Logistics Coordinator specializing in HAZMAT to manage end-to-end multi-modal freight operations. The Defense Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the movement of Class 1 Hazardous Materials across global boundaries, and focuses on precise and absolute physical security, tracking, and seamless synchronization within our international compliance framework. This is not a standard supply chain role .
WORK TYPE
The ideal candidate is based in Jacksonville, Florida however we are open to candidates in Maryland. This is a hybrid-remote role; remote options considered for the right candidate. Regular international travel to Europe every 4-8 weeks an ongoing basis is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
End-to-End Execution:
Plan, route, and execute complex multi-modal international freight shipments (Air, Maritime, and Ground) for ammunition, ordnance, and explosive materials.
HAZMAT Management:
Ensure all packaging, labeling, placarding, and stowage plans strictly comply with IMDG (maritime), IATA/ICAO (air), and ADR (European road transport) Class 1 regulations.
European OCONUS Logistics:
Coordinate directly with European ports of debarkation, freight forwarders, and handling facilities. Troubleshoot customs and transit complications on the ground.
Carrier & Charter Vetting:
Source, secure, and monitor specialized air/sea charter services capable of handling sensitive defense articles and explosive compatibility groups.
Secure Supply Chain Maintenance:
Manage strict chain of custody protocols, transit security detailing, and real-time geofenced asset tracking to prevent shipment diversion.
Compliance Collaboration:
Partner alongside our external export control counsel (SD Associates) to ensure all logistics paperwork perfectly matches approved DSP licenses and End-User Certificates (DSP-83).
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 4-6 years dedicated experience in defense logistics, military logistics (movement control or ammo specialist backgrounds), or specialized hazardous freight forwarding required Proven experience handling Class 1 (Explosives) transportation required Valid certifications in: IATA, IMDG, or DOT Hazmat are highly preferred Must be able to travel to Europe every 4 to 8 weeks to manage critical transfers, audit vendor yards, and build relationships with port authorities
Security/Compliance Status:
ITAR-regulated environment (U.S. Person status required ) Candidates based in Jacksonville, FL preferred with the ability for hybrid-remote work; open to candidates based in Maryland; onsite work is required Deep understanding of moving materials within the European continent, including familiarity with cross-border transit rules and European port clearances

Pay:
$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
