Smart Wires provides advanced power flow control solutions and analytics that enable controllable power systems. This gives grid operators more control over where power flows and helps them use their existing networks more efficiently. Our solutions support system reliability, reduce congestion, and make it easier to integrate new load and generation while minimizing costs and community disruption. We collaborate with customers to achieve their strategic objectives and help them face an uncertain energy future with flexible, high-impact solutions. Position Summary The Import/Export Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, executing, and tracking domestic and international logistics activities to support manufacturing and project delivery sites. This role manages a wide range of shipment types- including palletized freight and oversized or heavy-lift equipment
- across multiple transportation modes such as ground (FTL/LTL), ocean and air.
Requirements:
Requirements 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain roles with a global focus Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field Hands-on experience with international and domestic freight (ocean, air, and ground) Working knowledge of import/export processes, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance Practical experience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification Strong understanding and application ofINCOTERMS
® 2020 Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve shipping exceptions, delays, and compliance issues in a fast-paced environment Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and customer service skills Highly organized, with the ability to break down complex logistics challenges into actionable steps Proficiency in Microsoft Office Desired Skills and Experience Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite and/or Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Strong analytical and data management skills, with the ability to translate information into repeatable processes and documentation Experience in negotiating freight contracts or optimizing shipping costs Multilingual proficiency for international communication (LATAM, APAC) Industry-related certifications are a plus (CSCP, CLTD, CITP) Location This is a hybrid position based in our headquarters in Durham, NC. Travel Requirements This role supports manufacturing and project delivery activities and may require occasional domestic travel. Safety Requirements Smart Wires team members are expected to comply with all safety requirements and regulations when working at Smart Wires facilities and visiting customer sites. This includes adherence to all state and local regulations. Additional safety precautions may include the use of PPE gear as needed per site requirements.
