Job Description

Feathers and Fur Express - Pet Travel Agent Job description: Our company acts as a travel agency for pets moving overseas. We provide step-by-step guidance, book the pet's international air travel as cargo, coordinate the entire move and communicate with the pet owner, veterinarian offices, government offices, and airlines to ensure all proper health documents and requirements are correct for travel. Lastly, we meet the client at the Atlanta Intl airport to check their pet into the flight on the day of travel. You will NOT travel with the pet. The Pet Travel Agent will handle all logistics and coordination required to move pet's internationally. The role will provide individualized customer service to pet owners. Essentially, our company acts as a travel agency for pets moving overseas. Your role will be to provide step-by-step guidance, book the pet's international air travel as cargo, coordinate the entire move and communicate with the pet owner, veterinarian offices, government offices, and airlines to ensure all proper health documents and requirements are correct for travel. Position most closely resembles a combination of a travel agent, freight forwarder, and a moving logistics coordinator. This is primarily an office position based on the computer. You will only meet the pet on the day of travel on occassion. You must be comfortable handling cats and dogs during the check in process.
Specific responsibilities include:
Resolving issues and unforeseen delays in travel plans. Receive/send emails. Significant writing experience is essential. Ability to speak professionally on the phone and in person. Ability to stay organized, keep records, and manage database. No procrastination. Must be able to lift a 50lb plastic crate on an occasional bases. Commitment to high quality customer service by responding to emails and phone calls in a timely manner Must be comfortable around cats & dogs. Actual pet handling will be very limited, but must be able to handle them when needed. Cannot be afraid of animals in general. Attention to detail is essential Must be punctual and well mannered. Independent worker with ability to solve problems on their own. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once Strong computer skills College degree is not required We would love to see a
