Job Description

Job Title:
Production Planner Job Description The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating products through the production cycle to ensure material availability and alignment with demand. This role involves creating and managing production orders for components and assemblies based on forecast, demand, and lead times to optimize inventory levels across a global network. The Production Planner generates material requirements planning (MRP) and collaborates with procurement to secure materials while managing inventory, including safety stock and shelf life. The role requires proactive collaboration with Logistics, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure smooth production flow. Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and coordinate products through the production cycle. Create and manage production orders based on forecast, demand, and lead times. Generate MRP and partner with Procurement to secure materials. Manage inventory, including safety stock and shelf life. Collaborate with Logistics, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure smooth production flow. Communicate with Commercial and Finance teams for informed inventory decisions. Maintain MRP master data including lead times, lot sizes, and stocking levels. Track key performance indicators such as backorders, on-time delivery, and work order shortages. Resolve material and labor shortages while minimizing disruptions to production schedules. Essential Skills 5+ years of production or supply chain planning experience. Strong MRP and ERP experience, with a preference for Oracle Cloud or SAP. Strong Excel skills, specifically pivot tables and VLOOKUP. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable working on-site 5 days a week. Additional Skills & Qualifications Production Planner or Supply Planner experience preferred. Manufacturing experience required, industry flexible. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and
VLOOKUP. APICS CPIM
certification, Tableau, and Power BI experience are advantageous. Experience in life sciences or biotech is beneficial but not required. Work Environment The work environment requires on-site presence Monday through Friday, from 8 or 9 AM to 5 PM. The position is not flexible for work-from-home arrangements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pleasanton, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
