Position Summary The Production Planner is responsible for overseeing production orders through the production and fulfillment process to maximize effective communication, improve On-Time Shipment (OTS) and escalate any risks as required. The Production Planner will manage internal communication, data analysis and scenario planning. Additionally, this role is responsible for performing monthly duties regarding data gathering, metrics, trends and analysis. Priority focus is to improve the
OTS, S&OP
analysis and increase the value that Colorcon can offer to our customers. This role is expected to support the Suglet product from the Stoughton, WI manufacturing site in the same manner. Responsibilities & Duties Analyze Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) recommendations and monitor sales forecasting via Sales and Operations (S&OP) system regularly to prepare and align manufacturing production plant schedule. Optimize inventory levels by minimizing carrying costs while also supporting demand. Place timely orders of material to ensure consistent supply and provide forecasts to suppliers as needed. Oversee purchasing, material planning, supplier relationship and product life cycle. Understand and update system data, pricing and lead times. Maintain and manage communications between Supply Chain and Customer Service. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, customer care, and other departments. Maintain communication with Procurement for sourcing of raw materials. Maintain communication with Site Director and Regional Supply Chain Manager to align suggested production volumes for actual and budget. Communicate supply issues and shortages to key stakeholders. Manage third party tolling process for intermediate raw materials. Identify improvement opportunities within the material management process to reduce inventory and critical items, while also proactively contributing to cost saving initiatives. Calculate and report On-Time Shipment goal and metrics. Reports on quality & service complaints and follow-up on preventive and corrective actions in coordination with the Strategic Supplier Manager. Provide support and backup of other planning functions as needed. Provide ad-hoc support to Site Manager/Site Director. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred and/or a minimum of three years of production demand planning experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, with Oracle experience being preferred. Strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills. Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
