Job Description:
PSCE Material Flow Engineer positions offered by Volvo Car USA LLC (Ridgeville, South Carolina). Prepare and implement in-plant supply chain processes related to new products and processes within in-plant logistics for Volvo, as well as the maintenance and improvement of these implemented processes. Introduce new processes and the roll-out of Lean Materials, ensuring the optimal introduction of new products and product changes in view of the physical material flow including updating related parameters in the involved material systems. Design transport flow interface between local suppliers/logistic providers and the plant to ensure optimal logistic flows and lay-out management. Develop internal material flows from dock to point of use within the plant, defining the logistic equipment, internal packaging, and tooling as it applies to physical material flow. Design off-line sequence, kitting, and material preparation cells within the logistics area of the plant and set-up of external warehouses and sequence centers which interface with the plant. Perform M3MU kaizen studies and problem-solving analysis across process optimization projects connected to in-plant logistics to drive engineering process improvements and changes. Investigate process consequences as they relate to production speed and production volume deviations and develop and implement necessary changes to ensure the plant reaches is Hours per Vehicle (HPV) targets. Analyze and implement material flow plans utilizing
VCMS MP&L
pillar implementation and Lean Material implementation to drive manpower efficiency and the ratio plan.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience working in material flow engineering, including systems and processes, within a manufacturing environment. Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: utilizing Excel to perform data analysis; using AutoCAD; and creating optimal layouts for the in-plant logistics flow. Position reports to Ridgeville, SC office. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy, but must live within commuting distance of stated office. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
