We are currently recruiting for aTransport Planner to join our friendly team based at our Offices in Colchester, Essex. The focus of this role is to optimise all programs of works across the Tarmac sector of industries, maximising both volume and best economic source principals for transport and supplying units whilst delivering an industry leading service to all of our customers.

Main responsibilities:

As the successfulTransport Planner, you will report to the Distribution Supervisor and will be responsible for providing timely communication to all stakeholders, updating on planned solutions to program changes, overseeing daily and weekly programmes including Out of Hours works.

On a day to day basis, duties and responsibilities of theTransport Planner will include (not exhaustive):

Supporting fleet, transport planners and weighbridge staff to ensure high levels of vehicle utilisation and low levels of haulier queriesEnsuring that internal and external customers receive the high levels of service and communicationCost effective distribution of Tarmac's product to external and internal customersManaging material service levels to customers through detailed pre planning of programmed works through regular communication with strategic customersReacting quickly and efficiently to unplanned events that affect adherence to program or planned service offeringCreating programs to enhance utilisation and efficiencies of internal and external fleetIdentifying and building effective links to external customers, supporting the area's commercial strategyEnsuring details of Capacity and forward programme and plans are communicated effectively to all stakeholdersThe role of Transport Planner is a Monday - Friday role with a rostered Saturday AM in rotation (Saturday is worked from home). We have core hours but start and finish times can be earlier or later around these to operate a team balanceThe ideal candidate:

The idealTransport Planner will have experience of working in a similar role and environment as well as:
