Job Description

This position is a key component of the Huron Transportation Service Center (TSC), where various professional and technical staff need to coordinate together from various locations to maintain coverage and customer service for the transportation needs for Huron, Sanilac, and Tuscola Counties. Coordinate and oversee trunkline maintenance contracting activities in Huron, Sanilac, and Tuscola Counties. Plan, budget, and monitor activities of contract counties, municipalities, and the private sector. Approve completed phases of work. . Coordinate Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) activities for purposes of partnering with municipalities and counties. Partner with the Lapeer/St. Clair Transportation Maintenance Coordinator (TMC), other TSCs, regions, and Lansing central office to create an interdependent relationship. Act as the liaison with the region office to ensure continuity and cooperation within the region and statewide. Act as a Transportation First Responder (TFR) during emergencies. Perform special assignments as need arises. Operate a vehicle or a vehicle trailer combination (e.g., truck and traffic trailer) with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of between 10,001 and 26,000 pounds when transporting the traffic trailer to work zones, crashes, etc. The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Transportation Maintenance Coordinator 12 position. Education Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school. Experience One year of experience equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Supervisor 11 or two years of experience equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Worker 9. To be considered for this position you must: Possess a valid driver's license and maintain it throughout employment in the position. Possess a valid Medical Examiners Certificate for Commercial Driver Medical Certification and maintain it throughout employment in the position.
