Videos Duties Help As a Transportion Specialist (Team Lead), you will : Plan, Coordine, Manage, and Monitor all actions and functions of the special permits program for the safe and secure transportion of hazardous merials throughout the United Stes. Lead the team responsible for the evaluion of thousands of applicions and petitions for special permits from shippers, carriers, chemical and container manufacturers, industries, public entities, and government agencies for special licenses to waive compliance with one or more requirements of the provisions of the Hazardous Merials Regulions. Advise industry and government agencies through direct contacts and correspondence on the standards and requirements to qualify for special permits. Coordine and directs the uniform applicion of special permit procedures by DOT agencies, such as the Federal Aviion Administrion (FAA), the Federal Railroad Administrion (FRA), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrion (FMCSA), and other Federal agencies, where applicable. Represent OHMS, PHMSA, and DOT nional conferences and meetings of professional societies and industry associions. The Ideal Candide for this position is an individual who has demonstred leadership ability, strong technical writing skills, and professional and persuasive oral communicion skills. This position will provide the selected individual with the opportunity to lead a team on multiple projects resulting in the issuance or denial of an applicion for special permit, research internional and domestic regulory issues, make recommendions to leadership, represent PHMSA conferences and meetings, and affect the safe transportion of hazardous merials. PROBATIONARY PERIOD

Experience applying transportion principles, compliance, and opering principles in the evaluions of special permit applicions. Experience interacting with technical experts and modal partners on complex regulory and special permits issues. Experience communicing effectively both orally and in writing on issues reling to technical and logistical compliance with the Hazardous Merials Regulions.
