Job Description

Logistics Associate Supporting and assisting the plant with all incoming and outgoing shipments, foreign and domestic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for supply chain management duties, including selecting carriers and researching shipping methods. Works independently with minimal supervision, exercising discretion, sound judgement, and professionalism in all tasks. Leads the daily operation of incoming and outgoing freight. Assist & monitors transportation budgets to keep costs at or below plan. Selects carriers by researching ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers. Facilitate operating cost reductions and develop/implement other programs to support company objectives. Plans and monitors inbound and outgoing deliveries. Works with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations. Updates and evaluates metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements. Ensures all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements. Assists associates within the Materials, Shipping and Receiving Departments on special assignments as required. Close coordination with various Department Managers and Supervisors as required. May be required to perform miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned. Assist in preparing shipments.
Qualifications:
Trainable; willingness to learn. Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail. Must have excellent organizational skills. Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and organizational abilities. Education and/or
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. Experience with Microsoft Office software. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
