Logistics Coordinator - Ready-Mixed Concrete Delivery We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team, ensuring the efficient scheduling and delivery of ready-mixed concrete to our valued customers across assigned markets. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where collaboration, precision, and proactive problem-solving are essential to delivering exceptional customer service and supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of concrete deliveries to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines. Collaborate closely with Customer Service Representatives, sales teams, plant maintenance, safety personnel, and delivery professionals to ensure smooth operations. Monitor delivery progress and address any issues promptly to minimize delays and maintain high customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, schedules, and related documentation. Ensure all activities comply with company safety, environmental policies, and procedures. Communicate effectively with team members and customers to provide updates and resolve any delivery-related concerns. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency and service quality.
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with multiple teams and customers. Proactive problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Knowledge of safety and environmental policies relevant to logistics and transportation. Requirements:
Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications. Strong communication, listening, and organizational skills. Ability to accurately transcribe orders, including complex mix designs and admixtures. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of assigned geographical areas. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English, with the ability to interpret construction specifications and concrete mix designs. Familiarity with the properties, characteristics, and performance of concrete mixes, components, and additives preferred. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members. Willingness to work overtime, varying shifts, and occasional Saturdays as required. Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or dispatch station. Ability to stand, walk, bend, or reach as necessary to perform routine office and operational tasks. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity sufficient to read computer screens, reports, and dispatch data accurately. Must be able to hear and speak clearly to communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and team members by phone, radio, and in person. Ability to tolerate moderate noise levels common to dispatch or plant environments. May occasionally be required to visit plant or yard locations, which may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, noise, and uneven surfaces.
