Job Description
Prepare lumber and building materials orders as needed to ensure items are always in stock for customers. Submit special orders for customers (custom doors, windows, etc.). Review material orders for accuracy/quality and report discrepancies. Maintain appropriate inventory and adjust for discrepancies based on Elder's Standards. Monitor market pricing for lumber and suggest retail price changes. Prepare customer quotes and material lists. Maintain overall appearance of lumber yard and collaborate with leadership on special projects. Prepare and maintain weekly delivery schedules for materials ensuring deliveries are accurate and timely. Build rapport with customers, contractors, and current/future vendors. Assist in day-to-day store operations as needed (general maintenance, freight, assisting customers on the sales floor, and any other tasks assigned by store leadership). High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus. Experience in Lumber and Building Material Industry managing orders and inventory. Experience with CRM and ERP software and Microsoft office skills. Experience managing a busy delivery schedule. Demonstrates flexibility to maintain high standards of customer service and on-time deliveries. Familiarity with building plans and experience writing take offs a plus.
