Inventory Planner Columbia Safety and Supply Coppell, TX Job Details Full-time 1 hour ago Benefits Health savings account Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance Qualifications Customer communication Practicing in a supply chain operations role Purchase order management Supplier relationship improvement Cross-functional collaboration Full Job Description Description The Inventory Planner is responsible for managing item inventory with a sense of urgency and focus in order to meet or exceed customers' expectations while keeping the inventory volume of slower-turning / less profitable inventory categories lean.
Requirements for success:
Monitor purchasing requirements and manage inventory levels Analyze inventory needs and urgency to determine the best way to fulfill requirements Assist in setting replenishment parameters and influencing order levels for stockable inventory Create advance buys and scheduled deliveries based on demand history and growth expectations Communicate with purchasing team and leadership on any new developments in sales and vendors Create and send purchase orders to vendors Communicate and resolve issues in shipping, pricing or quantity Compile and send POS and consignment reports Liason between internal and external customers to resolve issues Evaluate, clarify, and act on customer forecast information Ideal candidate qualities include: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. 3 years of work experience in a Buyer or Planning role (or in a similar capacity). Experience using ERP systems with forecasting/demand planning capabilities. Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Demonstrated ability to drive improvement with an assigned set of suppliers.
