Vice President, Director or General Manager Ironhorse Resources, Inc. (IR) and Subsidiaries IHR Transport (IHRT) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ironhorse Resources, Inc. (IR). IR is family owned and financially strong. IHRT manages trucking operations which include the company driver (CODR) division, the logistics division (IHRL) and the over-the-road (OTR) division which are all based in Houston, TX and the Rio Valley Intermodal Ramp drayage division based in Donna, Texas. IHRT employee's report directly to the Director of Trucking Operations unless otherwise informed. Summary of Responsibilities The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for optimizing the utilization of company resources by matching our available loads with available carrier capacity and our current partner carriers. This individual will prioritize loads by time requirements and customer priority to ensure minimization of dead-head and non-productive miles for all IHRT drivers. This individual works closely with the Operations Manager on effective driver workload management. This position is responsible for selecting individual IHRT drivers for customer pick-ups and deliveries and communicating all customer needs listed on load tenders to the driver in a manner that meets all customer expectations. The individual in this role should produce maximum profits while providing excellent service to our customer base. With the assistance of the Operations Supervisor, this Role will communicate and distribute the daily workload in a fair and balanced manner across IHRT's driver fleet. The Load Planner and Billing Clerk will foster the desire for growth of all IHRT's business units and be expected to make intelligent and tactful service decisions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Logistics Coordinator Regularly and accurately make timely entries into the operating system of load status, costs, and freight audit information Accounts Payable data entry, scanning and follow through in a timely manner. New carrier set up, verification and data entry into our software system. Primary contact for broker, broker carrier and drivers handling our customer freight. Enter IHR Logistics loads into our software system. Coordinate with other departments and foster growth in brokerage business By using available industry tools and relationships, identify and grow carrier base. Proactively work on growing our IHR Logistics revenue by increasing customer market share. Verification of carrier safety and other qualifications according to company policy Intelligent and tactful negotiation of rates and services Clear communication of service expectations Consistently follow up to ensure that the loads are moving according to the schedule and expectations of the customers. Also known as tracking and tracing of loads. Customer invoicing and data entry of carrier settlements. Immediate follow up and management of any exception/claim Assist sales in continued development of a customer base Other duties assigned by management. Working Conditions
  • Hours of operation for this role will be 7:00PM to 4PM Monday through Friday with one hour lunch break daily. The Role will work approximately 40 hours per week and participate in after-hours on call, as necessary.
  • Generally, the position requires "in office" desk work. Skills Required
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Ability to be productive and work in a secluded environment
  • Accountability for attendance
  • Previous brokerage, dispatch and/or logistics experience is a plus
  • Good numerical skills
  • Understanding of customer invoicing processes
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Ability to learn software programs used to manage truck operations.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a high pace work environment.
  • Positive attitude
  • U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Experience working with owner/operators is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to write and speak Spanish is a plus, but not essential
