Full Job Description Description:
Job Overview:
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the efficient transportation, storage, and distribution of goods throughout the supply chain. This role ensures products are delivered accurately on time, and in the most cost-effective manner while maintaining high service levels and operational efficiency. The Logistics Specialist works closely with suppliers, carriers, warehouses, procurement teams, customer service, and internal operations to support daily logistics activities, inventory accuracy, and transportation management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead and train warehouse associates to meet productivity and safety goals. Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Inbound Operations:
Supervise receiving processes including unloading, inspection, and documentation of incoming goods. Coordinate domestic and international shipments Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records Track orders, deliveries, and shipment status Work with suppliers, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams Resolve shipping delays, transportation issues, and inventory discrepancies Prepare shipping documents, invoices, and customs paperwork Analyze logistics data to improve efficiency and reduce costs Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations Support procurement, distribution, and warehouse operations Maintain
ERP/WMS/TMS
system accuracy and reporting Coordinate with procurement and vendors to resolve discrepancies or delays. Ensure proper storage and rotation of inventory following FIFO principles. Monitor and maintain accurate inbound records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
Outbound Operations:
Oversee order picking, packing, staging, and shipping activities. Ensure timely dispatch of customer orders and internal transfers. Collaborate with transportation teams to optimize delivery schedules and routes. Verify outbound documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Transportation & Shipment Management:
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across multiple distribution channels Schedule and track freight deliveries with carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) Monitor shipment status to ensure on-time delivery performance Resolve transportation issues including delays, shortages, damages, and missed deliveries Optimize freight routing and transportation costs while maintaining service expectations Maintain strong relationships with transportation vendors and carriers
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination:
Monitor inventory levels and support inventory accuracy initiatives Coordinate product movement between warehouses, distribution centers, and customer locations Investigate inventory discrepancies and support cycle count processes Ensure proper stock rotation and inventory control procedures are followed Assist with warehouse capacity planning and replenishment activities Match order invoices with original order forms to ensure accuracy.

Requirements:
Required Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in product inspection, auditing, and quality control procedures. Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and industry-specific compliance standards. Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and manage teams. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Proficiency in logistics and shipping documentation, including BOLs and inventory tracking systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-departmental coordination.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in quality assurance, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, production, or logistics management. Prior experience in the food industry or perishable warehousing preferred. Experience working with QMS, inventory management systems, and shipping logistics platforms.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the warehouse and production areas. Must be able to navigate all areas of the facility, including cold storage and freezer environments. Ability to travel to company facilities, vendors, or suppliers on short notice.

Office, warehouse, distribution center, or hybrid environment Frequent interaction with transportation providers, vendors, and internal departments May require occasional travel to warehouses, suppliers, or distribution facilities Ability to work flexible hours during operational disruptions or peak shipping periods -
