Job Description

The Logistics Technician, Freeport, Texas, is an entry level production operator responsible for performing tasks associated with inventory control, loading, and unloading materials for tank wagons, tank cars, trucks, for inspecting and labelling raw materials, and preparing customer orders. You will support the site's logistics capabilities by ensuring the operation and support of logistics equipment. How You Will Make an
Impact:
Responsible for loading and unloading of inbound and outbound modes of transportation Responsible for inspecting and labeling incoming materials and pulling samples as required Maintain workplace organization through the execution of 5S quality principles and related practices Assures the implementation of compliance programs for all federal, state and local regulations covering employee health, safety and the environment Partner with Logistics Coordinator and Engineering in completing process improvements and to identify optimum operating conditions Ensure that Management of Change (MOC) procedures are followed in assigned work area Responsible for issuance of work permits in assigned area Ensure maintenance work orders are written and followed-up for assigned work area Maintains, records, and documents appropriate written and electronic operating records and data Satisfy all Corporate Quality Requirements and ISO9001 Quality Management System Practice Responsible Care 14001 through active participation in the Responsible Care Management System and adhere to the Guiding Principles of Responsible Care 14001 Actively participates in a culture of continuous improvement through collaborative engagement and by providing suggestions in meetings and trainings to improves processes and systems Initiates the response to any spills, leaks, and emergency situations within assigned areas. Ensures work is accomplished through defined, measured, and continuously improved work processes; proactively identifies and leverages best practices developed across SI Group.
