Job Description

Job Type Full-time Description Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Technician, is responsible for managing the flow of medical supplies, equipment, and inventory throughout the hospital. This role ensures that doctors, nurses, and staff have the right materials at the right time while controlling costs and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment Order, receive, and distribute supplies throughout the hospital Track usage trends to prevent shortages or overstocking Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards Coordinate with departments (e.g., surgery, ER, pharmacy) to meet supply needs Maintain accurate records using inventory management systems Conduct regular audits and resolve discrepancies Manage storage conditions for sensitive or sterile items
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience in logistics, inventory management, or healthcare supply chain Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Familiarity with inventory software Attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and teamwork abilities

Be committed to quality and patient safety at all times Healthcare operations
  • Understanding how hospitals function (ER, OR, inpatient units) Medical supplies & equipment
  • Familiarity with items like PPE, Implants, DVT Regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of standards from organizations like DNV, CMS, Joint Commission and FDA Inventory management system
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Previous healthcare supply chain experience is often preferred, but on-the-job training is available.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Constant walking and standing are required, often for the majority of the shift Frequent pushing and pulling of heavy supply carts, sometimes weighing up to 100 lbs. The role requires a full range of body motions, including bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and balancing. Good manual and finger dexterity, along with hand-eye coordination, is needed for scanning, picking and stocking supplies Must have good vision and hearing Potential for exposure to varying temperatures. OSHA Classification:
Category III:
Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and Category I tasks are not a condition of employment. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Persons who perform these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first-aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way. Tasks that involve handling implements or utensils, use of public or shared bathroom facilities or telephone, and personal contacts such as handshaking are Category III tasks.
