Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to support our operations and ensure efficient production scheduling, materials planning, and coordination between departments. This individual will play a key role in helping us meet customer deadlines, reduce lead times, and optimize inventory levels during a period of increased demand.Position Location:
Humble, TX In This Role You Will:
- Monitor work orders and job progress; proactively identify delays or bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
- Make corrections to work order BOMs as needed
- Coordinate closely with production supervisors to adjust schedules based on shop floor conditions
- Create and manage visual scheduling tools (spreadsheets, whiteboards, or planning boards
- Partner with purchasing and inventory teams to align material availability with production priorities
- Lead daily or weekly production scheduling meetings with cross-functional teams
- Manage work order statuses, make corrections as necessary
- Support inventory control processes, including cycle counts and demand forecasting
- Troubleshoot fulfillment or other work order related issues
- Provide feedback for ERP item master/master data corrections
- Generate and maintain planning metrics, reports, and KPIs to support operations leadership
- Assist in transitioning planning activities into a more standardized or digital format (if applicable)
Qualifications/Skills:
- 3+ years of production planning or materials scheduling experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong understanding of MRP systems and planning tools (experience with ERP software such as Oracle, Epicor, SAP or similar)
- Familiarity with BOMs, routing, lead times, and inventory control
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Oracle NetSuite ERP experience.
- Electrical distribution equipment manufacturing or engineered to order business
Work Environment:
