  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics required.
  • 2-4 years of experience ONLY, this is not a senior level role Our client is located in South Houston, near Edgebrook area and looking to add a Materials Management / Logistics Specialist to their team on a 6 month contract to hire basis.
The main function of a Materials Management and Logistics Specialist is to coordinate the planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials to support operational efficiency. A typical Materials Management and Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely delivery, inventory accuracy, and compliance with supply chain procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the procurement of materials to meet production and project needs. Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials in accordance with company policies. Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipments, and material usage. Analyze logistics data to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all logistics activities.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and procurement principles. Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal teams. Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support decision-making. Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
Education/Experience:
