Job Description
Overview The Planning department plays a critical role in the company's production workflow, primarily responsible for scheduling work based on existing Sales Orders to meet customer demand and company revenue goals. This role involves close coordination with Procurement and Production departments to ensure efficient material flow and level-loaded production scheduling. They will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Planning department.
Key Responsibilities Scheduling and Coordination:
Master Sceduling for assigned production areas Schedule weekly and monthly work based on existing Sales Orders, aligning with customer due dates and revenue targets. Coordinate directly with Procurement and Quality to confirm raw material availability. Collaborate with Production to ensure schedules are realistic and allow for level-loaded workload across specific work centers. Act as the primary scheduling point-of-contact for specific, assigned work centers Coordinate deliveries of customer supplied materials using dock management software Review new Sales Orders for accuracy before approving them.Process Improvement Support:
Assist the Planning Manager in identifying and addressing systemic obstacles that hinder on-time performance and revenue realization. Provide support for initiatives aimed at reducing the current 15-20% gap between scheduled orders and realized revenue.Cross-Training and Coverage:
Actively participate in comprehensive cross-training across all planning areas to ensure full departmental coverage.. Maintain current knowledge of all Planning procedures and protocols to support all key functional areas. Qualifications 5 years experience in Manufacturing Scheduling or Production Planning Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment (Procurement, Production, Sales). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing complex scheduling requirements. Ability to quickly learn and apply new training across varied functional areas.Benefits:
