  • 25 per hour About the Role The Tool Room Clerk plays a critical role in supporting a safe, organized, and effective learning environment within the lab/shop.
This position is responsible for managing tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure students and faculty have what they need to succeed. This is a highly hands-on, detail-oriented role where organization, accountability, and consistency are key. Success in this position means maintaining accurate tracking systems, ensuring safety compliance, and proactively managing inventory and equipment readiness. Key Responsibilities Tool & Equipment Management Issue, track, inspect, and maintain tools, equipment, and supplies Record tool distribution and returns, ensuring accountability Generate and report lost or unreturned tools to leadership Maintain control over damaged or broken tools and report accordingly Safety & Compliance Implement and maintain tool inspection and safety programs Ensure compliance with OSHA and workplace safety standards Perform routine inspections to confirm tools are safe for use Inventory & Supply Management Monitor inventory levels and anticipate shortages Ensure tools, supplies, and materials are available for class projects Maintain accurate records of inventory, usage, and losses Assist in sourcing and purchasing tools and materials as needed Maintenance & Calibration Maintain calibration and inspection programs for precision tools Perform routine maintenance on training equipment Maintain documentation for all maintenance and calibration activities Operational Support Assemble and distribute tools and materials for class projects Support facility and equipment maintenance activities Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership What We're Looking For Education High School Diploma or GED required Experience At least 3 years of experience using hand tools and equipment similar to an aircraft repair shop Experience working in a hands-on, technical, or shop environment preferred Skills & Mindset Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, word processing) Commitment to safety and compliance standards Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment What Makes You a Great Fit You are highly organized and take pride in maintaining structure You are dependable and follow through on processes and procedures You prioritize safety and accountability in everything you do You are proactive and anticipate needs before issues arise You enjoy hands-on work and supporting others in a learning environment Benefits We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package that supports your personal and professional well-being.
