Job Description

Description Join Our Team as an Estimator/Planner! Worth Higgins & Associates is seeking a skilled Estimator/Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and production plans that ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. If you have a strong background in printing, cost estimating, and production planning, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
Determine the most efficient and economical methods for manufacturing jobs, considering material, labor, and equipment costs.
Production Planning:
Prepare comprehensive production plans based on customer specifications, ensuring a balance between quality, cost, and timeline.
Material and Labor Calculation:
Accurately calculate material quantities, labor hours, and outside services required for job production.
Customer Change Orders:
Prepare cost estimates for customer-requested changes at the proof stage and communicate these changes to the account team.
Vendor Negotiation:
Negotiate the best possible prices with vendors and suppliers to optimize production costs.
Press Sheet Layouts:
Create press sheet layouts using software programs or manually when necessary.
Requirements Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in the printing industry with strong knowledge of cost estimating and production planning.
Collaboration Skills:
Ability to work closely with in-plant supervisors, account executives, and account managers to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in creating press sheet layouts using relevant software and/or manual techniques.
Detail-Oriented:
Strong attention to detail, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
