Manufacturing Manufacturing company experience Team motivation (leadership skill) Full Job Description The Production Planner is responsible for creating production orders, maintaining work center productivity, monitoring production capacities, maintaining planning bills, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring that materials and resources are in place to meet production goals on time. The Production Planner will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Production, Procurement and Customer Service. - Create and distribute production orders to the Manufacturing Department. control on completion and status on each production order. Update schedule as required due to demand changes.
- Use the production plan to ensure products are available according to customer orders and production capabilities. Develop methods to ensure component availability and capacity availability at the time of customer order entry by performing pre-shortage component analysis and developing production capacity schedules.
- Work with Logistics to establish expediting methods and schedules for potential material shortages as necessary.
- Coordinate production plans with manufacturing teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of production targets.
- Communicate regularly Production and Plant Manager to address any challenges or issues that may impact production schedules.
- Work within the Sales and Operations Planning process to ensure all priority orders are clearly identified, escalated, and processed ahead of standard orders.
- Maintain the integrity of the MRP System (SAP)for manufacturing and material planning.
- Conduct project-based SAP work as required, such as design, testing, etc.
- Focus on maintaining adequate manufacturing absorption and capacity levels.
- Maintain daily and update production schedules to ensure customer required dates are met.
- Plan and coordinate workforce and timelines and coordinate execution of build schedule.
- Track production progress against schedules and identify any deviations or delays.
- Understand and develop the release and scheduling of work and material utilizing the existing MRP system.
- Participate in or lead initiatives aimed at improving production planning processes, reducing lead times, and optimizing resource utilization.
- Implement an effective strategy for the most cost-effective flow of resources.
- Continuously improve planning processes, tools, and efficiencies.
- Be flexible and able to adapt to changing company strategies due to the start-up nature of the company.
- Adhere to Condair's Quality Assurance System and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Material Management or similar degree. 3+ years' experience in planning, coordination, and a strong emphasis in scheduling production in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Fluent in English (reading, writing, spoken). Ability to convey instructions clearly and with confidence. Ability to solve practical problems and apply strong planning and organization skills to daily scheduling and material variances. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook. Strong knowledge of SAP (PP, MM) or similar ERP (Oracle) required. When planning for production, accurate calculations are required to understand a production's requirements and allocate sufficient resources. Skills in mathematics are needed to implement strategies. APICS certification is considered an asset. Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work, set targets and make decisions. Ability to work accurately and methodically under pressure. Ability to instill confidence and motivate others to take action.
