Temporary | Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Traffic Coordinator to support transportation, shipping, and logistics operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key point of contact for transportation-related inquiries and works closely with internal teams, carriers, brokers, customs agencies, and third-party logistics providers to ensure efficient movement of goods both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation compliance, import/export processes, and logistics coordination, along with exceptional organizational and communication skills. Key Responsibilities Transportation & Logistics Coordination Serve as the primary contact for transportation-related questions from internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate shipping and distribution activities with domestic and international logistics partners. Manage transportation operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. Support shipping activities during peak periods, urgent situations, and special project requirements. Compliance & Regulatory Management Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations. Support hazardous materials shipping requirements and maintain compliance with applicable regulations. Monitor adherence to transportation and trade regulations, including DOT, IATA, and customs requirements. Maintain knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines and shipping standards. Process Improvement & Documentation Identify opportunities to improve shipping and distribution processes. Develop, document, and maintain transportation procedures and best practices. Support quality management initiatives and ensure compliance with company quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency. Claims & Carrier Management Manage claims related to shipment loss or damage with carriers and insurance providers. Coordinate with parcel carriers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to resolve shipping issues. Assist with carrier performance monitoring and transportation-related problem resolution. Qualifications Required Experience Minimum 5 years of transportation, logistics, shipping, or supply chain experience. Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or operational environments. Strong understanding of transportation and logistics processes. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle or similar platforms. Preferred Qualifications Experience in ISO-certified and Lean Manufacturing environments. HazMat certification. Knowledge of DOT and IATA shipping regulations. Working knowledge of Incoterms. Experience managing parcel carriers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers. Familiarity with transportation and trade regulations including 49 CFR, 19 CFR, BIS, EAR, HTS, and related compliance requirements.
