This position plays a critical role in balancing customer requirements, production capacity, material availability, and delivery commitments to ensure overall business success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts. Process customer orders, revisions, and inquiries accurately and efficiently. Communicate order status, lead times, delivery schedules, and potential delays. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and responsive service. Resolve customer concerns and issues while coordinating solutions with internal departments. Review customer forecasts and demand changes to support production planning. Ensure customer requirements, specifications, and expectations are clearly communicated to operations. Production Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and material availability. Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, shipping, and quality departments to ensure timely order fulfillment. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address changing priorities. Analyze workload and capacity to optimize production efficiency and resource utilization. Review inventory levels and material requirements to support production plans. Identify potential bottlenecks and proactively implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems. Order Management Enter and manage customer orders in ERP systems. Review purchase orders for accuracy, pricing, delivery requirements, and specifications. Coordinate engineering changes, revisions, and special customer requests. Track open orders and ensure commitments are met. Generate and maintain reports related to order status, production schedules, and customer performance metrics. Continuous Improvement Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Recommend improvements to planning, scheduling, and communication processes. Support company goals related to on-time delivery, quality, productivity, and customer retention. Qualifications Required Associate or bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, scheduling, customer service, or a related role. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions under changing conditions. Preferred Experience in metal fabrication, machining, welding, or sheet metal manufacturing environments. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Experience with demand forecasting and inventory management. Familiarity with JobBOSS, TRAMS, or similar manufacturing software systems. CPIM certification from ASCM (formerly APICS).
