Job Description

General Description The Supply Chain Buyer/Planner is a pivotal role responsible for executing purchasing, planning, and supplier relationships. This position ensures efficient inventory management, timely procurement, and effective scheduling. This role requires collaboration across most other functions including sales, engineering, and manufacturing. Essential job functions o Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. o Source and procure materials, components, and services required for production. o Maintain accurate records of purchases and monitor supplier performance.
  • Scheduling:
    o Develop production schedules based on demand forecasts and capacity constraints. o Optimize production flow by coordinating material availability and production timelines. o Ensure timely delivery of finished goods to meet customer demands.
  • Material Planning Optimization o Utilize MRP systems to plan material needs, track inventory levels, and prevent shortages. o Analyze demand patterns and adjust procurement plans accordingly. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules with material availability.
  • Inventory Management:
    o Monitor inventory levels, minimize excess stock, and prevent stockouts. o Implement inventory control strategies to optimize working capital. o Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    o Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliable and consistent deliveries. o Evaluate supplier performance, address issues, and drive continuous improvement. o Collaborate with suppliers on cost reduction initiatives.
  • Advanced Planning:
    o Anticipate supply chain challenges and proactively address them. o Participate in strategic planning discussions related to production capacity, lead times, and risk management. o Contribute to long-term supply chain optimization efforts. Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, APICS CPIM) preferred.
  • Proficiency in MRP systems and advanced planning tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience in an electrical products manufacturing environment is advantageous. Education requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
