Safety Specialist- Water Transport

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct risk assessments and inspections and provide corrective/preventive measures. Oversee and observe the movement of water for drilling, completion (fracking), and produced water management, using trucks and pipelines for hauling fresh water, flowback, and produced water for reuse or disposal. Ensuring efficient water logistics for oil and gas operations. Work with company and contractor's site management team to implement the project and site safety programs. Conduct regular safety inspections/assessments on-site locations in accordance with established project and site safety plans or as requested by site team members. Inspect work environment looking for work hazards and safety violations. Conduct safety audits. Report results to management as needed. Monitor work processes to ensure compliance with the site work permit system and area/system responsibilities. Participate in investigation and follow-up of incidents/accidents; prepare notifications/reports for communication of significant incidents to company project/functional management per project incident reporting procedures. Advise site team (company, contractor, and subcontractors) of the company's safety requirements, regulations, expectations, and best practices. Conduct daily worksite safety meetings. Examines credentials, licenses, or permits to ensure compliance with licensing requirements. Responsible for facilitating JSAs, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entry Permits, Lockout/Tagout, etc. Generate reports for management and customers as needed. May carry/handle equipment. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED Must be familiar with transportation safety and the hauling and transferring of fluids. Must have knowledge of hazardous materials and waste. Must be willing to work rotational assignments (i.e. 14x14 rotation) Minimum of 5 years safety experience in the water transport industry. Current and valid state driver's license. Must be knowledgeable of company protocols, operational procedures and safety policies. Must be able to read, write and communicate professionally and effectively with employees and managers. Must possess the ability to compose simple correspondence or reports within Microsoft Office suite. Must possess the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and/or managers.
