Position Description:
The Supply Chain Coordinator serves as a key liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and logistics providers to ensure seamless movement of materials and finished products. This role combines logistics expertise with supply chain optimization to support Applied Medical's manufacturing operations and customer delivery requirements. The successful candidate will manage multiple transportation modes, coordinate complex shipments, and maintain accurate tracking systems while ensuring compliance with medical device shipping regulations. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage freight shipments across multiple modes including LTL (Less Than Truckload), FTL (Full Truckload), parcel, air, and ocean freight to optimize costs and delivery timelines. Monitor and track shipment status from origin to destination, proactively communicating delays or issues to internal stakeholders and customers. Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and customer service teams to ensure accurate shipping schedules and inventory management. Maintain comprehensive shipping documentation and utilize ERP systems (preferably SAP) to track orders, update delivery status, and generate logistics reports. Negotiate with freight carriers and logistics providers to secure competitive rates while maintaining service quality standards. Resolve shipping discrepancies, damage claims, and delivery issues by working directly with carriers and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain Excel-based tracking systems and reports to monitor key performance indicators including on-time delivery, freight costs, and carrier performance. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and implementing solutions to enhance supply chain operations. Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, medical device requirements, and company policies for all outbound and inbound shipments. Success in This Role Looks Like Consistently achieving on-time delivery targets while optimizing freight costs and maintaining high customer satisfaction scores. Successfully managing multiple concurrent shipments and deadlines without compromising accuracy or service quality. Building strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth logistics operations and issue resolution. Proactively identifying and resolving potential shipping delays or problems before they impact customer deliveries. Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting systems that provide real-time visibility into supply chain performance.
Position Requirements:
This position requires the following skills and attributes Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong understanding of freight transportation modes including LTL, FTL, parcel shipping, air freight, and ocean freight operations Excellent time management and organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact professionally with carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail for managing complex logistics requirements Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking, analysis, and reporting purposes Experience with ERP systems for order management and logistics coordination; SAP experience strongly preferred
Preferred:
The following skills and attributes are preferred 2+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or freight coordination roles Knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and medical device logistics Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) Understanding of Incoterms and international trade compliance requirements Lean Six Sigma or supply chain certification preferred Experience in medical device, healthcare, or regulated industry logistics
