Job Description

Materials Coordinator I/II | 3-Month Contract| Vista, CA Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials Coordinator to support raw materials handling, inventory control, dispensing operations, and documentation in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role works within cGMP guidelines and SOPs to ensure accurate material tracking, safe chemical handling, and compliant recordkeeping on an ERP system. Two experience levels are available; level placement will be determined based on candidate background. Materials Coordinator — Level I | $21.60 - $27.95/hr Role Summary The Level I coordinator handles day-to-day receipt, storage, dispensing, and distribution of raw materials and finished products. This individual supports production scheduling and batch manufacturing through timely and accurate material issuance, inventory transactions, and compliant documentation. Key Responsibilities Receive incoming materials; verify receipt against purchase orders and process ERP transactions; coordinate resolution of receipt or invoice discrepancies with Purchasing and Accounting. Perform physical tasks including sampling, weighing, dispensing, bottling, vialing, and storage of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products in ISO 7/8 cleanroom areas utilizing scales, fume hoods, chart recorders, and glove boxes. Issue and transport raw materials to production; label dispensed materials and transfer to appropriate storage areas maintaining required segregation and storage conditions. Execute and document dispensing operations per Master Production Records; perform final dispensing and QC sampling for peptide packaging operations. Generate bills of lading and hazardous materials declarations; follow safety protocols for toxic and high-volume chemical handling per DOT, IATA, and hazmat regulations. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred. 1-3 years of supply chain experience in a cGMP life science or biotech manufacturing environment. Minimum 3 years combined experience in multi-site distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations within pharma/biotech manufacturing. Willingness to work with chemicals and hazardous goods; ability to wear PPE including respirator. Ability to handle temperature-sensitive products and work in cold storage environments. Ability to operate material handling equipment; valid California Driver's License required. Materials Coordinator — Level II | $23.40 - $32.17/hr Role Summary The Level II coordinator assumes expanded ownership of materials management operations including amino acid witnessing and label control, SOP and specification revision, and cross-functional coordination. This individual operates with greater independence and contributes to GMP documentation integrity and quality compliance. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate records of inventory for raw materials and finished products; perform routine inventory counting and reconciliation. Witness and control amino acid handling for manufacturing; maintain label control for raw materials. Revise material specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and related GMP documentation to ensure current, accurate information. Weigh, dispense, bottle, vial, and sample products and materials maintained by materials management; dispense finished products for testing/analysis and vendor shipment. Ensure materials released for production use are stored in appropriate, compliant areas; maintain proper segregation and labeling. Communicate proactively with other departments to ensure timely material distribution and supply continuity. ​​​​​​​ Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred. 3-5 years of supply chain experience in a cGMP life science or biotech manufacturing environment preferred. Minimum 5 years combined experience in multi-site distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations within pharma/biotech manufacturing preferred. Willingness to work with chemicals and hazardous goods; ability to wear PPE including respirator. Knowledge of temperature-sensitive product handling; comfort working in cold storage environments.
