Job Description
Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine America is looking for a skilled Inventory Analyst to join our team in Itasca, IL. The Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels to support aftermarket parts sales and service operations. This role ensures the right parts are available at the right time while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs. The analyst works cross-functionally with sales, procurement, warehouse, and suppliers to improve fill rates, forecast demand, and maintain inventory accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze inventory levels, usage trends, and demand forecasts to ensure optimal stock availability Monitor and improve fill rates, backorders, and order fulfillment performance Develop and maintain inventory planning parameters, including min/max levels and safety stock Collaborate with procurement to place and expedite purchase orders based on demand and lead times Identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory; recommend disposition strategies Support pricing, promotions, and product lifecycle decisions through data analysis Perform regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accuracy Generate and present reports on inventory performance, KPIs, and trends Coordinate with warehouse operations to improve inventory handling and storage efficiency Assist in new product introductions and phase-outs to ensure proper inventory alignment Perform other duties as assigned by MTEA managementJob Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or Finance, 3+ years of inventory planning or supply chain experience, preferably in aftermarket parts or marine/industrial industries Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, forecasting, data analysis) Understanding of inventory management principles (EOQ, safety stock, lead time variability) Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) across all internal levels and Global Company sites, including sister plants and business partners. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time throughout the shift. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must be able to occasionally move and or lift up to 35 pounds.
