This role must have a strong understanding of the production processes as well as the ability to communicate quickly and concisely in regard to any material items that may impact the manufacturing process. This individual will possess strong analytic and communication skills effectively controlling inventory both physically and in SAP. Assumes responsibility for daily management of purchased parts inventories
  • Manage day to day purchase parts with Suppliers and escalate potential concerns as necessary to Operations, Commodity Managers in a timely manner
  • Utilize current system effectively and accurately for monitoring purchase orders with the mindset of continuous improvements and initiate/submit changes to SW for those improvements.
  • Follow standard work for your position in all functional departments that interact with inventory while understanding the process wholistically.
  • Work with Commodity Managers, Inventory Control, Operations, and Finance to establish, review, and update appropriate inventory targets for purchased parts
  • Work with Supplier Quality Engineer and Commodity Managers in regard to Supplier product quality concerns
  • Manage all deliveries needed to satisfy customer orders and report any back ordered or missing products Assumes responsibility for daily management of finished goods inventories and production scheduling
  • Support production Schedule in accordance with our FIFO and other system tools to achieve 95%+ On Time Delivery
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure consistent backflushing procedures are followed in SAP
  • Maintain accurate scheduling tools for production schedule boards
  • Daily review of Syteline system tools to report discrepancies with inventory and create resolution if needed.
  • Lead/Support the cycle count function for areas of responsibility.
  • Work with Business Analyst, Inventory Control, Sourcing, and Finance to establish, review, and update appropriate inventory targets/initiatives/key process indicators for raw and finished good materials. Assumes responsibility for continual improvements in inventory management
  • Work with Inventory Control Analyst to reconcile SAP transactions, packing slips, and physical receipts of shipments
  • Conduct root cause analysis for inventory variances using continuous improvement tools
  • Conduct BOM as needed to verify accuracy of actual usage and system (Syteline) accuracy. Submit any updates through appropriate process.
  • Monitor the status of the Purchased parts MRS(s) and execute the plan to continually improve inventory turns through lump size, lead time, rate of consumption, and lump quantities
  • Implement and maintain visual controls throughout work area to enable quick, easy decision making (PP, MRS levels, Scrap, etc)
  • Maintain regular reports related to inventory turns, scrap, and cycle counts Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree is preferred. 2-3 years of inventory control, materials management, or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing facility preferred Hands on utilization of continuous improvement tools Effective oral and written communication skills Proven problem-solving skills Thorough understanding of Manufacturing processes, material planning and production scheduling Understanding of OSHA rules for warehouses and maintains safe practices around material handling equipment Ability to develop, document, and implement processes and procedures Highly professional with the ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational Structured approach to work methods, including being able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Proficient computer skills working with MS Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). ERP system knowledge, preferably in SAP, with the ability to learn new systems quickly Proactive and self-motivated requiring only basic directions Detail oriented and inquisitive with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Results and deadline oriented Must live withing driving distance of Lenexa .
