Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Summary The Material Coordinator at Viavi Solutions, LLC is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of materials throughout their lifecycle, from procurement to distribution, ensuring optimal inventory levels and supporting production schedules. Job Responsibilities Coordinate the receiving, inspection, storage, and issuance of raw materials, components, and finished goods. Maintain accurate inventory records through timely and precise data entry into the ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Perform regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies. Prepare and process purchase requisitions based on production needs and established inventory levels. Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, discrepancies, and material quality issues. Support production by ensuring materials are available at the right time and in the right quantities to meet manufacturing demands. Manage material movement within the warehouse, including picking, packing, and staging for production or shipment. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance material flow, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies related to material handling and storage. Generate reports on inventory levels, material usage, and potential shortages. Experience Requirements:
Job Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in a material handling, inventory control, or logistics role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory management and data entry. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing material records and quantities. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification preferred). Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with internal teams and external suppliers. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
