Site Technician 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Milford, MI 48380 The Chemico Group 15 reviews Position Summary The Site Technician is responsible for providing technical support at the customers site by conducting performance evaluations of materials and mechanical processes including testing, analytical evaluation, problem solving, product recommendations and process improvement. Maintaining effective documentation of gas traceability records.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Main Liaison with regards to testing, analytical evaluation and documentation of gas traceability records for Pontiac. Main Liaison during 2nd shift with Customer Contacts within Building 3/31 for onsite business operations. High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively independently and with others on collaborative projects. Ability to communicate effectively with other sites and shifts. Provides technical support including preventive maintenance, problem identification and resolution, and maximization of material use with proper inventory management of (NIST Standards, Working Masters, Span Gas Lines, etc.) Understands customers' material use in research processes and provides appropriate recommendations for compressed gases, and other applicable materials. Research product information from suppliers, manufacturers, internet, and reference sources. Interfaces with internal customers, working on-site to create process efficiencies. Help identify cost-saving opportunities. Makes presentations to internal/external management and personnel, communicating test findings and offering appropriate recommendations on processes. Works in Sage 100 ERP for purchase order processing. Interacts with people performing approval submissions to ensure all documents meet OSHA, corporate, and plant guidelines. Works with EHS Departments to ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards. Ensures all new submission for products are entered into the system for corporate and plant approval. Performs other duties and assignments as required. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, engineering or technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience in chemical/industrial environment preferred. Computer proficient with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the internet required. 1-3 years of technical experience in industrial manufacturing or technical environment preferred. Works independently; self-motivated and self-directed. Works effectively with all levels of internal/external management, personnel, customers, and suppliers. Possesses strong communications and presentation skills. Achieves goals and objectives as determined by management. Demonstrates ability to utilize technology for communication of analyses, results, and problem solving. Demonstrates resourcefulness in obtaining product information from suppliers and manufactures to achieve goals. Successfully manages and prioritizes multiple projects within fluctuating operational demands. Demonstrates strong analytical and problem identification and resolution skills. Prolonged periods of standing and walking in large industrial environment. Ability to maintain high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time. Prolonged periods of sitting and exposure to computer screens. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional travel required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Computer proficient with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the internet required Familiarity with other software applications
Work Environment:
Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast paced environment. This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role requires presence on the manufacturing floor and a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. This role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Ability to work in team fostered environment. Ability to work in multi-tasked environment. Strong personality and focus in fast-paced and demanding environments. Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task.
