Job Description

Job Summary Under general supervision, responsible for all inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling and loading / unloading. Maintain customer inventory and customer owned dunnage. Communicate with sub-contractors to ensure that all deliveries are on time. Responsible for storage area, data entry into systems as required. May have to communicate with customers through various customer portals. Responsible for maintaining inventory and 6S of HazMat room. Responsibility Source various suppliers for shipping and related services. Generate necessary paperwork for outbound shipments. Receive inbound materials. Inventory management, assist in maintaining/adjusting target inventory level for raw and finish goods products, cycle counting and physical inventory. Develop and maintain weekly and daily shipping schedules for all customers and sub-contractors. Utilize customer software systems to determine daily, weekly monthly demand. Maintain close support with all sub-contractors to ensure all schedules are being met. Coordination of transportation and vendor releases to assure timely delivery of materials and to minimize freight costs. Expediting of all customers and vendor requirements when required. Perform Physical inventory, as required by the Supply Chain Manager. Maintaining computerized inventory control system in conjunction with manual systems. Provide information to Customs and Brokers for clearing incoming/outbound shipments, (i.e. purchased items, raw material, equipment, etc.). Ensure that internal containers are being returned in a timely manner from sub-contractors and customers. Schedule timely shipments to sub-contractors accounting for travel and loading and unloading time required Expedite with suppliers when required. Setup pickup and deliveries. Maintain carrier list (contacts, pricing, availability, routes, etc.). Load and unload trucks as required (forklift license required). Other duties as assigned. Academic/Educational Requirements Post secondary education, APICS certification or related experience preferred. Required Skills/Experience Minimum of five years warehouse experience including Receiving and Shipping. Must be computer savvy. Must be proficient in Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, Word). Understanding of lean concepts and continuous improvement. Safely use material handling equipment such as fork trucks. Ability to read forms, such as invoices, parts order forms, packing slips and bills of lading. Ability to communicate with customers and subcontractors. Must be a good planner. Must be flexible and able to adjust daily tasks accordingly. Must be able to work in both team and independent environments. Knowledge of MRP and web-based Customer System is an asset. Must be willing to learn.
