Job Description
About the Role Signum Dorn is hiring a Production Planning Analyst to support and strengthen our production planning function — both day-to-day execution and the systems behind it. Working closely with the Materials Manager, you'll learn how planning runs across the business, partner with our project managers on planning initiatives in our ERP environment, and grow into a key contributor on how we plan and schedule production. This is a hands-on role. You'll spend time in the ERP configuring planning logic and releasing jobs, and you'll spend time on the floor understanding capacity, constraints, and material flow. If you like problems that touch data, process, and systems, this seat has all three.
Essential Functions:
Projects & Systems Partner with project managers to support production planning initiatives in our ERP environment Help configure and refine planning, scheduling, and material requirements logic Validate master data — BOMs, routings, work centers, item parameters — for planning accuracy Build reports, dashboards, and queries that give operations realtime visibility Support system improvements and rollouts as the business evolves Planning Execution Build and maintain the production schedule under the direction of the Materials Manager Release and maintain jobs; coordinate with purchasing on material availability Run MRP and analyze output to keep the schedule realistic and supplied Monitor schedule adherence and support rootcause analysis on misses Identify and recommend planning process improvementsCompetencies:
Required 3+ years in production planning, scheduling, or materials planning in a manufacturing environment Handson ERP experience — configuration, master data, and MRP/planning execution Strong Excel skills (pivots, lookups, basic data modeling) Demonstrated ability to translate operational needs into system configuration Comfort working across IT, operations, project management, and supply chain teams Preferred Direct experience implementing or upgrading a planning module Familiarity with ERP reporting and workflow tools (queries, dashboards, automation) APICS CPIM or equivalent certification SQL or Power BI exposure Adaptability across multiple systems Why This Role You'll work directly with the Materials Manager to learn the planning function from the ground up while immediately contributing on real projects and systems work.
