PRODUCT EVALUATION SYSTEM - LATROBE, PA 15650
Apply Overview Salary Range $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Salary/year Position Type Full Time Indirect Apply Description About Product Evaluation Systems Product Evaluation Systems (PES) assists commercial and industrial clients by providing materials testing services through our full-service testing laboratory. Our capabilities include metallurgy, mechanical testing, chemical testing, failure analysis, machining, and nondestructive testing. We cater our services to each client's unique testing needs. Our experienced engineers, chemists, metallurgists, and technicians provide assistance to the additive manufacturing, aerospace, steel manufacturing, power generation, mining, and oil & gas industries, among others. As part of the ATS family of companies, we can offer additional inspection, calibration, and consulting engineering capabilities when clients need a broader scope of services.Position Summary:
The Application Specialist serves as a customer-facing technical support role responsible for responding to customer inquiries, preparing quotations, and coordinating materials testing requests. This position focuses on accurate information gathering and clear communication to ensure customer requirements are properly defined and effectively transferred to laboratory operations. The Application Specialist works closely with the Application Specialist Manager and laboratory teams to deliver responsive, high-quality customer service. Key Responsibilities Customer Service Respond to customer inquiries regarding testing services via email and phone. Assist customers in defining test requirements, specifications, and scope. Provide clear, professional communication throughout the inquiry and quoting process. Support ongoing customer relationships through reliable and timely service. Address routine customer questions, updates, and changes related to quotes or orders. Quoting Prepare quotations for testing services under established pricing guidelines. Clarify scope, pricing, turnaround time, and administrative requirements with customers. Ensure quotes are complete, accurate, and properly documented. Track quote and order status and follow up with customers as needed. Coordination & Documentation Coordinate with laboratory operations to confirm test feasibility, scheduling, and turnaround times. Ensure customer requirements are clearly documented for laboratory execution. Communicate changes or clarifications between customers and lab personnel. Assist with resolving order-related issues in collaboration with the manager and lab teams. Quality & Compliance Support Follow established procedures for quoting. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support customer service and quoting processes. Qualifications Education Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in laboratory-related roles. Experience 2-5 years of experience in quoting, order management, or applications support. Experience in a laboratory, materials testing, manufacturing, or technical services environment preferred. Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability. Ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable using quoting tools, ERP, or LIMS systems. Professional and customer-focused approach to problem-solving. Working Conditions Office-based role within a laboratory environment.
