Job Description

Position Summary The Product & Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, logistics, and delivery of bulk and packaged chemicals to customers across power generation, semiconductor, municipal water, and industrial water treatment markets. This role serves as the primary operational and commercial liaison between chemical suppliers, logistics providers, and high-value strategic customers, ensuring uninterrupted supply while supporting account growth and long-term partnerships. The position also plays a critical role in expanding and strengthening the company's supplier network by identifying, developing, and managing strategic vendor relationships across a wide range of bulk chemical products. Key Responsibilities Supplier & Sourcing Management Develop and maintain relationships with chemical manufacturers and distributors Proactively identify, source, and onboard new suppliers for bulk and packaged chemicals Conduct supplier outreach to expand and diversify the company's chemical supply network Build and maintain long-term strategic supplier partnerships Negotiate pricing, supply agreements, contract terms, and service expectations Evaluate supplier performance, reliability, pricing competitiveness, and market positioning Manage vendor relations and support overall product management initiatives across chemical categories Source bulk and packaged chemicals at the best possible terms Logistics & Transportation Coordination Manage bulk chemical transportation Coordinate deliveries to power plants, municipalities, and industrial sites Monitor freight markets, carrier performance, and routing efficiency Mitigate risks related to delays and shortages Customer Account Support Align supply strategies with customer demand, tank levels, and operational needs Implement and utilize tools and processes to monitor bulk tank levels in coordination with service representatives Oversee and ensure successful, on-time delivery execution to each customer site Provide proactive communication regarding market conditions, pricing changes, and potential supply risks Assist in safety training at customer sites pertaining to deliveries Market Intelligence & Pricing Track market trends (raw materials, freight, regional supply constraints) Monitor relevant commodity indexes for each bulk chemical Analyze cost drivers and support pricing strategy development Communicate pricing changes and market updates to internal teams and customer Inventory & Demand Planning Forecast customer demand and coordinate supply accordingly Optimize inventory levels Support onboarding of new customers - ensure the locations of tanks, entrances, connection types, products, and equipment Compliance & Safety Ensure all activities meet regulatory requirements (DOT, EPA, OSHA, and local regulations) Coordinate proper documentation (BOLs, COAs, SDS) Support safe handling, storage, and delivery practices Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with sales, operations, and accounting to ensure seamless delivery execution Support new business opportunities and expansions Assist with troubleshooting and resolving operational challenges at customer sites Identify and recommend opportunities to improve and automate information flow between back-office systems and field representatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3-7+ years of experience in chemical distribution, logistics, procurement, or industrial supply chain management Experience with bulk chemical transportation (tankers, rail, ISO containers) Strong understanding of water treatment, power generation, or industrial chemical markets Proven ability to source suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage strategic vendor relationships Experience with product management, procurement strategy, and supply continuity planning preferred Skills & Competencies Strong negotiation, procurement, and vendor management skills High attention to detail and problem-solving ability Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Knowledge of freight markets and supply chain dynamics Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and logistics platforms
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
