Job Description

Job Title:
Logistics Analyst Job Description This role focuses on ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient movement of shipments by validating shipment details, resolving logistics issues, and supporting internal and external stakeholders. The Logistics Analyst monitors booking utilization, coordinates with freight forwarders, and leverages advanced tools and systems to maintain high standards of shipment accuracy and customer service in a fully remote environment. Responsibilities Validate IMOs and shipment details to ensure accuracy, completeness, and on-time processing. Monitor pre-booking utilization, identify unused bookings, and coordinate cancellations with shipping sites to optimize capacity and reduce waste. Maintain and regularly update quarterly pre-booking files to keep shipment planning data current and reliable. Investigate and resolve mis-shipments by coordinating with freight forwarders, including partners such as Vanguard and AIT, to ensure timely corrective action. Monitor returns and intercompany shipment errors, tracking each case through to full resolution. Track open logistics requests and proactively follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely closure and clear communication of status. Gather and organize shipment documentation, ensuring all required records are complete, accurate, and available for internal and external use. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to support smooth execution of logistics activities. Support air freight quote requests by using established templates and carrier contacts, ensuring accurate and timely responses to pricing needs. Provide high-quality customer service related to freight, logistics, and transportation inquiries, focusing on responsiveness and problem-solving. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience as a Logistics Analyst or in a closely related logistics role. Strong customer service skills with a focus on responsiveness and issue resolution. Hands-on experience with freight, logistics, and transportation operations. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with complex spreadsheets and data analysis. Experience working within supply chain environments and processes. Proficiency with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. High school diploma (HS Diploma) or equivalent educational expereince. Additional Skills & Qualifications International logistics experience in import and export operations is highly desirable. Experience coordinating with freight forwarders and carrier partners. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with internal teams and external partners. Ability to manage multiple open requests and follow up proactively to closure. Detail-oriented approach to validating shipment data and documentation. Interest in a long-term opportunity with potential to transition into a full-time role. Work Environment This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role is fully remote within the Columbus, OH area, offering flexibility while maintaining regular business hours. Training may occasionally take place in the office, providing opportunities for in-person onboarding and collaboration when needed. The work environment centers on digital tools and systems such as Microsoft Excel and SAP to manage logistics data, bookings, and shipment documentation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
