Niantic Seal About Us More than just a leading distributor of premium sealing products, Niantic is also a highly integrated customer resource combining a full complement of application and design expertise with extensive materials knowledge. This includes Niantic's custom fabrication capabilities, covering a broad range of engineered seals, flash/die cut gaskets / molded rubber parts and specialty hose assemblies.
Purpose:
Primary responsibility is to control raw material inventory. This involves locating, adjusting and identifying problems with the inventory to allow smooth operation of Production. Position reports to the Purchasing Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Realign the Fabrication Raw Material and Finished Goods for the Niantic Seal Division by: 1. Load and unload presses in accordance to the Production schedule. 2. Keep track of material usage on all jobs coming off the Production floor. 3. Update work orders with actual material used. Report any variances to Purchasing and Engineering.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of other inventory functions while coordinating with internal as well as external sources of the organization. Assist in raw goods cycle counts. Set up and maintain accurate and organized raw good stocking locations. Rotate materials per work instructions to maximize shelf life. Date labels on all incoming raw material to insure FIFO rotation of inventory. Periodic walk though of raw materials to check shelf life and dispose of expired material per work instruction. Aid in the inspection of incoming raw materials when necessary. Incorporate a Kanban based visual inventory system for adhesives and other products deemed necessary. Segregate and identify unacceptable goods for disposition per nonconforming material and service procedures and instructions. Operate powered lift trucks. (LP fork-lift and electric lift truck)
Physical Demands:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. (packages, pallets, snow removal, tools, equipment) Long periods of standing, bending, reaching
Required Education and Experience:
5 years work experience required High School diploma or equivalency Ability to read and write English Skill/Aptitudes Possess a strong math and analytical skill sets Ability to operate independently and responsibly Prior cycle count and material handling preferred. Knowledge of operating a PC and working on inventory software and programs Strong written and verbal communication skills Familiar and comfortable with a variety of measurement tools and methods used in counting and verifying inventory accuracy
