The Materials Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of the flow of materials between AFL's distributors, suppliers and other business partners. The Materials Coordinator will be the primary liaison and manager of all product-related needs for multiple projects. The successful candidate should have supply-chain experience including monitoring inventory levels and orders, producing inventory and consumption reports, and working with multiple departments to meet business needs. Responsibilities Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records: Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material. Coordinate material distribution to meet daily production schedules Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability. Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications. Arranges in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules. Computes amount of material required to complete job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes. Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials. May move or transport materials from one department to another, manually or using material handling equipment. May arrange for repair and assembly of material or part. May monitor and control movement of material and parts on automated conveyor system. Personal Qualities Strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Qualifications 2+ years of relevant work experience with production planning and materials management Spoken and written fluency in English Proficient in MS Office - specifically Excel and Word Knowledge of and experience with supply chain processes and requirements Ability to perform inventory counts Working Conditions Normal office environment. Occasional work inventory counts possible at select warehouses. 40 hours/week, with general hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
