The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes Materials & Processes (BCA M&P) is seeking an Experienced or Senior Chemical Technologies Engineer for the 787 Wing & Empennage Engineering Support Team in North Charleston, SC. Primary Responsibilities Define engineering requirements and select or recommend parts, materials, processes, manufacturing technologies, machinery, tools, and automation systems to support product design and manufacturing in accordance with contractual and regulatory obligations. Plan and execute qualification activities for new materials, parts, processes, and suppliers, including test programs and audits. Perform failure and performance analyses of tools, materials, parts, or processes to identify root causes and recommend corrective or preventive actions. Manage test programs, supplier qualifications, and related documentation to ensure compliance with program requirements. Apply project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule objectives for assigned tasks and projects. Integrate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into materials/process design, research and qualification, procedures, and laboratory/office operations. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and other engineering teams to support product development and production readiness. Maintain technical records, specifications, and reports to support audits, certifications, and continuous improvement efforts. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 3+ years' experience in Engineering and Manufacturing environment 2+ Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications related to chemical finishes and corrosion protection for aerospace applications Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): (Senior level) 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with aerospace organic and inorganic finishes Experience with aerospace chemical coating technology Experience with chemical coating material qualification Experience analytical lab practices (FTIR, GCMS, environmental testing) Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Pay Range Summary:

Summary pay range for Experienced (level 3): $112,200 - $151,800 Summary pay range for Senior (level 4): $136,850 - $185,150
