General Job Description:
The Materials and Inventory Analyst reports directly to the Materials Manager and has a key role in the operation, ensuring the accuracy of inventory.
Responsibilities:
  • Using the company's ERP system and in accordance with the established timeline and count criteria, performs cycle counts of critical Raw Materials (RM), Work in Process (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG).
  • Prepares inventory variance reports for evaluation.
  • Investigates inventory variances/discrepancies and makes recommendations for inventory adjustments.
  • Participates in semi-annual physical inventory counts and assists with data entries.
  • Works closely with purchasing department on inventory shortages, demand planning and delivery lead time to ensure no stoppage in manufacturing or deliveries to the customer.
  • Provides inventory status feedback to the production-planning group.
  • Assists the Materials Manager with special projects related to production planning and inventory accuracy, such as bar code scanning, bin location set-up and storage capacity analysis.
  • Monitors inventory turns and maintains critical data "dashboards".
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in MRP is required with an emphasis on Materials Management functions.
  • High School Diploma - required. Associates degree preferred.
  • Must be computer literate and have prior experience with EPR system navigation.
  • Must be familiar and able to use MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in both oral and written form.
  • Must possess basic math skills and process simple mathematical functions.
Must pay close attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
  • Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Able to wear required PPE such as eye and protection and protective clothing.
