Job Description

General Description:
Provide overall leadership to Superintendents across jobs. A General Superintendent reports directly to the Operations Manager or Branch Manager. Among a General Superintendent's responsibilities are overseeing Safety, Superintendents in planning, coordination and execution of work on-time, to LDI's standards and within budget, enhancing client relationships and the company image. Essential Job Functions General Duties Works with the Safety Officer to driving incident and injury free philosophy throughout the branch Coordinates field staffing for all projects including recruitment, selection, and hiring activities Ensuring productivity across all jobs to maximize profits while meeting LDI's productivity and quality standards Verifies correct installation and adherence to the plans and specifications at each major project. Reviews and presents 2-week schedules at weekly Operations meeting Allocating labor resources across region for following week as required Making labor dispatch decisions Completing accurately and timely required administrative work, including, but not limited to, time approval and safety documentation Review and hiring new field employees and Superintendents while performing annual Superintendent reviews Holding Foreman's meeting Establishes positive relationships and maintains ongoing communication with clients and LDI management/departments. Work directly with DL to set equipment budgets on an annual basis. Identify equipment needs on a quarterly basis. Minimize labor needs by maximize equipment utilization. Oversees Fleet associated to manage equipment as well as movement and utilization Attend weekly Ops Meeting with Operation Manager / Branch Manager prepared to discuss labor and equipment moves for following week, as well as details of any requests that cannot be fulfilled Holds Superintendent accountable for project schedules, project hours, material orders, client updates, jobsite coordination, and actual costs. Reports to DL on key performance indicators on a monthly basis (ie. daily and weekly safety compliance, labor budgets, field employee retention (headcount), customer service record, etc.).
Leadership & Management:
Implements and exceeds current company policy, systems and procedures of all Field Operations, Safety, Quality Control, and Technical Training Programs Adheres to and embraces LDI's company doctrine, values and mission statement and also ensure his/her direct reports do the same Oversees proper and efficient use of equipment and tools in the field Conducts bi-weekly/weekly Superintendent meetings Trains and evaluates assigned Superintendents Ensures that all new employees are trained on proper LDI policies and procedures, company culture, and proper project management practices Conducts all transactions in compliance with all LDI company policies, procedures, standards and practices. Handle job site emergencies and conflicts Utilize all forms of technology for enhanced communication and organization with Construction Teams including; Microsoft 365, Outlook email, Outlook calendar, OneDrive, Planner, To Do, Excel, Word Be professional, resourceful, have initiative, the ability to work under pressure, have commitment, be able to delegate, and have great attention to detail Evaluate Superintendent and Foreman skill development for increased responsibility Works with DL and BD to review all projects bid over $1 million to maximize competitiveness and labor budgets. Ensures field evaluations are being conducted on time Can work with Estimating to provide competitive production rates Safety Ensures that all LDI safety policies and OSHA regulations are met and high levels of productivity and quality are performed at all times Immediately reports any employee injuries to Human Resources and/or Safety Officer Enforcement of all field employees to wear appropriate uniform and PPE's for job functions. Skills/Abilities Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and evenings, as required Read, interpret, and follow construction plans, RFIs, submittals, and specification books Understand and carry out instructions and to complete work assignments correctly Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish Good physical condition. Ability to work outdoors in all climates. Understands production rates Understands and can train on labor tracking Creates duration schedules Understands average hourly rates and initiatives on how to improve them Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications 15+ years of landscape construction or related experience Valid Driver's License Demonstrated leadership/management experience. Work Environment/Physical Requirements Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic Work near or about natural bodies of water Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required.) Ability to work in extreme conditions - temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. Overtime Pay:
$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
