Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Production Management Associate is a leadership development role designed to immerse early-career professionals in the full lifecycle of aggregates production. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Associate enters an intensive 18 to 24-month formal training program that combines technical engineering applications with frontline supervisory experience. The primary objective of this role is to master the operational, financial, and safety standards of the aggregates business. Associates are expected to transition from "learning" to "leading" by demonstrating proficiency in pit development, plant optimization, and team management. Upon successful completion of the program, the Associate is prepared for promotion into a Production Foreman or Assistant Plant Manager role, marking the first definitive step in their management career at Martin Marietta.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply engineering principles (Mining, Civil, or Mechanical) to assist in pit development, plant design, and the enhancement of production capacities. Gain hands-on experience operating and maintaining critical plant equipment, including primary/secondary crushers, screening plants, conveyors, and heavy off-road machinery. Assist in the technical aspects of the blasting process, including surveying, laying out drill patterns, and overseeing shot loading to ensure safe and efficient rock breakage. Perform and oversee standardized quality control tests to ensure all materials meet ASTM, DOT, and customer-specific requirements. Ensure 100% adherence to MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations and internal "Guardian Angel" safety cultures. Lead daily safety "walk-arounds" and equipment pre-shift inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Monitor and enforce prescribed environmental measures, including dust suppression, water management, and reclamation efforts, in accordance with state and federal permits. Provide direct leadership and direction for hourly employees, learning to manage diverse crews in a high-pressure production environment. Participate in corporate training sessions focused on conflict resolution, time management, and delegation. Maintain rigorous documentation, including weekly activity reports for District Managers and daily production logs to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Assist the Plant Manager in reviewing P&L statements, tracking operational expenditures, and identifying areas for cost reduction. Act as a liaison for customers and vendors, ensuring high-quality service and timely load-out of materials. Contribute to long-term mine planning and annual budgeting processes to ensure the site's sustainable growth.

COMPENSATION
The base salary compensation is $65,000 ; exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary), will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity. In addition to our base compensation and bonus opportunities, we also offer a competitive benefits package (more information on benefits listed below). At Martin Marietta, we offer a variety of health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage; prescription drug coverage; health savings accounts; flexible spending accounts; and life, AD&D and disability insurance. We also encourage our employees to plan for the future by offering a 401(k) with a company match and an employer-funded defined benefit pension plan.
