at Idaho Division of Human Resources in Jerome, Idaho, United States Job Description Idaho Department of Lands The Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) is seeking a full time Lands Resource Supervisor - (Lands & Waterways). This position will be located in Jerome, ID. Applications will be accepted through 11:59 PM MST on the posting end date. Description To supervise staff in resource management activities; perform related work. Generally, a Lands Resource Supervisor is assigned supervisor work related to Forest Management, Service & Regulatory Forestry, Fire Management or Lands & Waterways Management.Key Responsibilities:
Supervise two (2) permanent Lands Resource Specialists based in the Jerome Field Office. This position also supervises one (1) half-time Office Specialist for administrative support at the Jerome Field Office. IDL is seeking to hire someone with strong leadership and supervision abilities as well as the desire to learn programs outside their current specialty. The successful candidate will be supervising activities of Lands Resource Specialists in one or more of the following IDL programs: Range, Minerals, Navigable Waters, Recreation or Commercial Leasing. Additionally, this position is a "working supervisor" and will have workload responsibilities in one or more of those listed IDL programs. This position is also responsible for preparing and monitoring budgets, reviewing and approving expenditures, and maintaining equipment & supplies.General responsibilities/expectations include:
Safety. Provide safety first in all activities. Set high expectations for safety, establish a culture of safety, and provide training in safety. Plan. Recommend Area goals and objectives for the Lands and Waterways Division programs based on the agency's missions, program targets, and strategic plan components. Identify opportunities, submit project proposals, and anticipate obstacles in completing the Department's missions in these programs. Organize. Identify and acquire needed resources for project completion by recommending budgets and staffing levels. Implement. Establish project priorities and scheduling, and direct individual work activities to meet Area program targets. Ensure alignment between work activities and program goals and objectives. Communicate. Ensure a clear understanding of supervisor and program expectations. Seek and give constant feedback on performance. Keep supervisors, subordinates, coworkers, and customers informed of Departmental activities, initiatives, and issues.Minimum Job Posting:
