Job Description

The function of the project superintendent is to manage the safe daily operations of the project site including, but not limited to, production manning scheduling, training, supervision and discipline of project personnel. The overall objective for the project superintendent is to meet and exceed all standards established by the Client for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the plant.
Responsibilities:
Manage a staff of 50 to 60 in 6 different areas: including Supervisors, Safety Manager, Administrative Assistants, Forklift Drivers etc. Accountable for the safety program and the safety of all company personnel. Direct and coordinate, through supervisory personnel, activities concerned with production, utilizing knowledge of product, production methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment. Motivate teams to safely produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects. Monitor supervisory personnel in the management of staff scheduling, including work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, absenteeism coverage, and shift rotations. Recommend and maintain an organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish goals and objectives. Obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates of product demands. Determine necessary manning to meet production schedule demands. Coordinate with home office regarding the staffing requirements for the project site. Conduct interviews for available positions. Participate with Client personnel in the planning and preparation of the schedule. Direct supervisory personnel in the development, analysis and preparation of reports. Schedule and conduct supervisory meetings. Coach and provide career development advice to staff. Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews. Resolve or effect settlement of personnel conflicts. Work with Client personnel to ensure that fluctuating production schedules are met in a safe and timely manner. Expedite operations that may delay production schedules and alert appropriate personnel for corrective action. Utilize flexible manning in multiple areas to effectively meet the ever changing production schedule. Develop innovative solutions to address the issues involved with flexible staffing in multiple areas and to enhance the effectiveness of the Company. Coordinate production activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of manning. Confer with Client management personnel to establish production and quality control standards. Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors to enhance operational efficiency. Communicate with client superintendents and supervisors on departmental operations. Other duties as requested by client.
Pay:
$72,674.58 - $87,522.08 per year
