NIGHT SHIFT - Quarry Foreman

The Night Foreman for Pocono Sand and Stone LLC will be responsible, with schedule, and coordinate the work of employees in relevant quarry and extraction roles. In addition, acting as Quarry/Dirt Laborer out in the field.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Administer Safety awareness and compliance, guides, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of quarry staff to ensure work is completed on schedule.
• Provides job evaluations based on performance and goals in a timely and constructive manner.
• Implements disciplinary and termination steps as necessary and according to company policy.
• Recommends promotions and salary increases based on observed job performance.
• Ensures each assigned quarry worker follows all safety standards.
• Assists in quality control
• Assists in managing inventory

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs basic labor functions, such as lifting, shoveling and climbing, at heights up to 70 feet, in a steady and safe manner.
• Participates in all mandatory training classes.
• Maintains a clean, well-maintained and organized work area
• Work in outdoor processing environment.
• Directing and placement of Dump Truck (s) for dirt distribution
• The ability to use a Computer for essential job functions. Additional assignments as deemed necessary by supervisor. Oversees the project/work site, ensuring safety standards are followed and quality work is being performed in a timely manner.
• Determines project requirements and procedures, and the required materials and workers, based on given project specifications.
• Performs daily walkthroughs of project/work site to confirm availability and use of proper materials and tools; recognizes and promptly addresses issues so that work can continue on schedule.
• Coordinates outside vendors and suppliers
• Resolves problems and coordinates activities for the job through collaboration and communication with other management.
• Conducts audits and quality assurance tests of work and safety matters.
• Identifies and recommends solutions for production problems, as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Thorough understanding of quarry and extraction work.

• Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.
• Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools used in projects.
• Ability to read blueprints and other reports outlining specifications.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be willing to learn all aspects of the business
• Must be willing to learn how to operate all equipment needed
• Must be willing to attend and obtain all safety training and credentials.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to navigate worksite in different types of weather and bend, climb, stretch, reach, and lean to make inspections.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Some travel may be required.
